'is your time worth more than mine?'

So Gary came and played at the Vibe Bar last night which was as ever wicked. Sounding ever so slightly like Interpol meets Dire Straights meets some hotel jazz band - obviously that would be rubbish and Gary was amazing but still. It was a super short set - 5 tunes all in all and I really only recognised So So. We've been chatting to the Vibe Bar about maybe shifting to a Sunday which would be wicked as Brick Lane is way more packed on a Sunday than it ever has been so hopefully the Go can grace our stage again some time. I played some music - as follows

Mike Ladd - Activator Cowboy
Madvillian - Money Folder
RJD2 - Buss Stop Bitties
The Five Corners Quintet - Blueprint
King Geedorah - Anti Matter
De La Soul - Mack Daddy on the Left
De La Soul - Double Huey Skit
Gorillaz - November has come ft MF DOOM
Mice Parade - Milton Rd (remix)
C Side Trax - ???????
Daedelus - Impending Doom
Lali Puna - Micronomic (Boom Bip Remix)
David Gilmour Girls - HMMM
David Bowie - Be My Wife
Outkast - Dracula's Wedding
Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings - This Land is Your Land
Tammi Lynn - Light My Fire
Nostalgia 77 - Seven Nation Army

(then Gary played)

Bright Eyes - Take it Easy Lover
Tilly & the Wall - You and Me being Reckless
Death Cab - We looked like giants
Sleater-Kinney - One Beat
Delta Dart - Middle Name
Interpol - Evil
The Exit - Don't Push
Daedelus - Dumfounded remix
Ratatat - Seventeen Years
Jay Z - Sunshine (Ratatat re-edit)
Dizzee Rascal - Fix Up (Ratatat re-edit)
Postal Service - Against All Odds
Feist - Tout Doucement
Aceyalone - Moonlit Skies
Danger Mouse and Jemini - I'm a do me (love letter)
Ben Folds - Bitches Ain't Shit
Martha Wainwright - Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole
Princess One Point Five - By the time I get to Phoenix

nice nice

good games tonight at Vibe Bar, Brick Lane

Roll Up Roll up - Gary Go will grace the stage this evening at around 9 - 9.30 to deliver his usual blend of song-writery rock business. Having spent around 5 months flouncing around New York and LA he's back home in 'London town, that brought me up and know its bringing me down......'. This is only his second gig since he came back (he supported The National at the Barfly last month). As usual I'm gonna be playing some records and myPod. New tunes include Tilly and the Wall, new Sleater-Kinney and some Al Green and the Shirelles - hoisted.
